I haven't been on in awhile, but I have a lot of news.

First I went to the AG office to press charges on my step-father, they decided that I could go in front of the grand jury to get an indictment. Well I did that on March 21st (good Friday). grand jury decided to indict which made me feel great and since my step-father was in prison on an unrelated charge it was easy to serve him. Well they decided to indidct him on First degree sexual assault.

He was arraigned on the charges, plead not guilty and that was good because he was being held without bail.

I was possibly gonna have to testify at his bail hearing whch as suppose to be on May 18. My life fell apart on May 15th at 5pm. I got a phone call from the AG saying that they decided to drop the charges because I was "TOO VAGUE" in my grand jury testimony.

She said that he would be relased on his actual release date come to find out he was already out of prison when I got the phone call.

How can he be charged then they decide that I was too vague shouldn't they have said something to me before this happened? I hate knowing he is out there nd he could be hurting someone else.

Hi there,

My heart goes out to you. What you did in going in front of the Grand Jury is just so amazingly brave and strong, and what they did is unspeakable. Sounds like they deal with 'cases' and not 'people'.

What are you going to do now? I don't know how the legal system in the US works, can you challenge the decision? Can you talk to someone in the AG office to find out what went wrong and what you can do about it?

I can understand that you might feel too knocked back to do anything for the moment so if you feel you don't have the strength to fight,  this question isn't intended to make you feel bad (I say this because I would take it as personal criticism). Whatever you do is Ok as long as you are true to yourself and remember that if he offends again, you are not responsible for his actions or the consequences of his actions.

I truely think you are amazing.

Julia
