It seems a little self-serving to start a new forum (Positive Solutions) and then make a post about my birthday the first thing in it.
Well, I'm just going to assume that it is good karma that Lorus suggested this forum on the day that happens to be my birthday. I've told you earlier that my therapist is on vacation in Europe (she left 11 days ago and still has five more days to be away), so that has been a bit hard. My husband left on a business trip before the crack of dawn today.
So, it's my birthday, and I'm at home as a single mom. But, you know what, I'm going to enjoy today. I'm going to have cake for breakfast. (My husband did make me a birthday cake before he left ... he's a great guy.) I am giving a test in one of my classes today, so I do have to get a bit of serious work finished ... after that, I'm going to allow myself to play solitaire guilt free if that's what I want to do. I'm going to take myself and the kids out for supper. I'm going to watch game 1 of the World Series.
In short, I'm going to do what I want to do today.

dear susan
im new to the survivingincest discussion forum a few days now. positive solutions is a great ideal cuz that's what im in for now a days. gone are the depressed mind always remembering what happened too many years ago (over 30 years). now im in for justice, protecting, and speaking out. one way to speak out is thru this page because it helps to release the awful memories running thru my mind. I try to focus on alot of activities with my grandchildren and children they are what made my life now more beautiful to where it clouds my memories. Making memories is what im doing now life is too short make a goal everyday to make yourself happy its working for me. also this page is making me worth something in my life. thanks a whole bunch. love always patti.
