I called the college today, and asked if this scholarship is still available and was told that it is completely an English department scholarship with funds from their t-shirt sales. It was a scholarship that had no name and decided to put his name on it as a longtime teacher of the english dept.
I didn't/couldn't go into details over the phone and just asked who I could talk to because I had an issue over his name on the scholarship. I did tell the lady that I was his daughter. She gave the names of the scholarship committee, and said I could write to them. I think I recognize one of the names as a teacher my dad had taught with for a long time.
Right now I feel like I would just be out for revenge if I followed through with a letter. The lady kept saying he was a "longtime teacher" and I finally told her I was well aware that he taught there for many years. Later, I realized that if I had told any one the truth 25 -30 years ago, he would not have been a "longtime teacher"! In fact, he could have still gone to jail in 2003 ( at age 75), when there was a police investigation, except I could not specifically say exactly what happend on what specific date. It's all jumbled up in my mind. I just know it stopped when I went to colleg in 1982, and in Arizona it is still prosecutable for anything since 1975.
Still struggling with this and everything else. Can barely keep myself going these days.
Thanks for all your input,
Stephanie

| I am so sorry for the struggle you are going through. the agony of it stretches the computer page taut. How is it that we, who have suffered so much, are so sensitive to a greater justice? I did that myself and have seen it over and over again. For the most part we agonize over our own motives, wanting, needing to do the right thing. I think we instinctively know our own humanity is at stake. I just wanted you to know i'm thinking of you and know first hand, just how you feel. Take care of yourself.
